Shalini S. Prasad is an energy enthusiast professional, her research interest includes energy per se oil and gas, power and urban infrastructure in relation with strategy, forecasting, monitoring, policy and governance issues.
With around 8 years of work experience in energy analytics, she is currently employed with GAIL(India) Limited and is working in the Corporate Strategy Planning and Advocacy division. She is involved in strategy and advocacy of natural gas working on various issues in terms of research & analytics pertaining to energy domain. The work she is involved in gives her exposure towards various horizons of energy related with Energy Security, Energy Environment Scanning, to Energy Sourcing with a focus on market trends as a holistic view. Over the period she has developed sound understanding of Global Oil and Gas Markets and was involved in in the Energy Analytics Desk of the company for the top management.
As part of professional external engagements, she has worked with various multilateral organisations, energy economic research wings of countries, along with representing the organisation at various industry associations and think tanks – enriching the exchange of energy knowledge base and contributing towards various publications, research documents and business case for gas-based economy.
Previously, she had also worked in the domain of power and infrastructure development, hydrology of India with view of renewable energy scope and assessment. As part of her research she had conducted detailed assessment of power distribution utilities in India.
In terms of professional qualification, she is a gold medalist Civil Engineer from CEPT University, Ahmedabad and holds a Master’s in Business Administration in Infrastructure with a specialisation in Energy and Urban Infrastructure from TERI, New Delhi.
