Saumya Pandey is a Young Professional at NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), Government of India. A data analyst by profession, she is leading the energy data management and modelling activities in the Energy vertical. Her area of interest includes energy and climate change.

She works for various projects in collaboration with energy ministries, domestic and international organisations. As the nodal officer from NITI Aayog, she conducted a workshop in association with the World Bank emphasising the need for ‘Energy-Water-Agriculture Nexus: Grow Solar, Save Water, Double the Farm Income’. She is working on National Energy Policy, India Energy Security Scenario, GIS Energy Map of India, Vision Document – 2035, India Energy Dashboards, and various policy formulations for the energy sector.

Saumya did her Integrated M.Tech in Mathematics and Computing from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. Before working with NITI Aayog, she worked with the IT industry for 2 years.

Saumya believes in women-for-women. She is sponsoring a girl child’s education under the NGO Kartavya. She lives by the mantra “Shun the negativity around you, build yourself in extreme conditions just like coal, and shine bright like a diamond.”
