A young member of the Business and Professional Women International of Patan Chapter, Ms Sadikshya Aryal, is a women tech entrepreneur, co-founder of social enterprise Himalayan Innovations and founding member of “Rural Development Initiative (RDI) . A clean energy enthusiast with a background in electronics and communication engineering, she has been in the energy sector since 2015. Her projects are based on gender inclusive energy and human centered design for inclusive entrepreneurship. She is working as a Program Manager at Renewable Energy Confederation of Nepal working for public private partnership since 2018.
Her project “GAUNBATA” has introduced three line for agroproduce, souvenirs and garments. She is working with more than 638 members across seven rural municipalities in Nepal supporting women with automation and mechanisation powered by clean energy. She recently participated in “East Asia Regional Symposium of Young Business and Professional Women ” in Japan as a young bpw member.
She also leads “GIRLS4RURALS” a green initiative of Himalayan Innovations which trains young girls on adaptation of renewable energy technology for transforming rural lives for building cleaner and greener community. It focuses on primarily focusing on clean and green environment approach to fight against climate change, gap between provisions on energy by government and its implication, gender inclusive energy approaches, conducts design thinking workshops during the first week of Nepali month through its local girl leader in presence of Ward Representatives.
She represented Nepal as a young entrepreneur in 2019 Asia Pacific Youth Forum on Youth, Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Nepal as part of One Belt Road Initiative for regional connectivity on invitation by Chinese Government and UNDP Asia Pacific Regional Hub. She is also trained on “inclusive entrepreneurship” by the World Bank and Global Facility for Disaster Risk, Reduction and Recovery.
Winner of the Yunus Center Social Business Challenge 2017 through its project, Agroshelter, Himalayan Innovations was also the winner of Youth Co:Lab Nepal and was among the top 5 for scaling track at Youth Co:Lab Summit in Bangkok organised by UNDP Asia Pacific and CITI Foundation.
Sadikshya is also certified in ” Innovation and Readiness” from University of Texas, Austin. She was incubated by Nexus Hub at American Center, Delhi with support from State Department of the United States as an entrepreneur.
