Pratha Jhawar is a Renewable Energy (RE) professional with an experience of working for more than six years in the field. She is currently working in the domain of policy research and advocacy. She has undertaken an extensive study to determine the impact of solar pumps in the agriculture and power sector and India’s readiness to attain the 175 GW of RE target of 2022. She advocates for distributed energy generation systems particularly, solar rooftops and mini-grids.

She has an experience of over four years as a Product Engineer for solar cells and photovoltaic modules in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). Her projects for improving the efficiency of solar cells and panel parameters helped in bringing down the cost of solar energy to grid parity and in paving a path for the eco-friendly power sector.

She completed her Masters in Environmental Technology at Imperial College London as a Chevening Scholar. She is an Electronics Engineer from IIT-BHU, Varanasi. She has a number of copyrights, design registrations, and publications to her credit.
