Priya Selvaraj - South Asia Women in Energy (Sawie)

Priya loves the domain of renewable energy. She has backed her passion with deep research and solid corporate track record of 25 years in solar and semiconductor process/product development. During her graduate studies, her team has created the world record in Cadmium Telluride PV technology (Funded by NREL). Priya owns three US patents from her engineering work.

During her corporate career, Priya has completed more than 1 GW of solar projects globally. She is currently the General Manager at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. As the country head, she is responsible for the power electronics business and a manufacturing plant for Siemens Gamesa and is focused on driving technology, business development, sales, supply chain, and sustainable manufacturing solutions across the renewable energy industry. She also has a solid subject expertise in PV technology and has been involved in various strategic initiatives in collaboration with some leading technology companies across the globe. Previously held senior roles at SunEdison, MoserBaer and Altera (now Intel)

Priya has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of South Florida, Tampa, USA and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University.
