Ms. Preethi Menon is associated with the power sector since 2009. She started her corporate career with the EPC division (Engineering, procurement & construction) of Reliance infrastructure in 2009; the same year in which she completed her masters in control and instrumentation from Delhi College of Engineering (now DTU). Prior to that she had the privilege of honing her knowledge as a lecturer (2003-2007) after completing her B-Tech in EEE.

At present, she is with BYPL, heading commercial office (Business Manager) of Shankar Road Division. The division has a registered consumer base in excess of 65,000. She has a diverse experience in EPC, Metering, billing management, demand side management, client relationship management, strategic planning, techno-commercial coordination during design and implementation phase of power plant projects and 5s and Kaizen implementation.

As manager power supply in Mayur Vihar division she played a pivotal role in implementing BYPL”s pilot project named “Green Division” wherein green initiatives like Microgrid, Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, waste management and rain water harvesting were introduced. Under her leadership, Microgrid (Roof Top solar with battery bank storage) was successfully completed and many consumer awareness programs in sustainable technologies for environment protection were executed for group housing societies.

She has represented BYPL in various platforms in and outside India. CIGRE India Women in Engineering Forum was one such platform. She was chosen by GIZ Germany for a workshop in Bavaria, Germany for “consumption-based power generation from solar energy”. This was followed up with an exclusive invite by GIZ to present a paper on “The development of Innovative Business Models related to solar energy” in New Delhi.

A paper on “Self adjusting solar Panel” was co-authored by her for ICSTEP-International Interdisciplinary Conference on “Sustainable technologies for environmental protection”. Her experience and skill sets give her a unique understanding on various domains of energy generation, distribution and sustainable models for future. With an overwhelming experience in customer service and cross functions she has an excellent insight into overall business operations.
